A quail egg of Rutilated Quartz is being clutched by a 10k yellow gold bird's claw in this bold necklace by Annette Ferdinandsen. This piece of rutilated quartz is particularly spectacular. We love the neutral earthiness boldness of the necklace. The 14k gold chain is in itself gentle but sturdy enough to anchor such a substantial pendant.

Working from her upstate New York studio, Annette Ferdinandsen's handcrafted organic creations are influenced by nature, her travels and surroundings. Her father and grandfather were both model makers for renowned Danish sculptors. Ferdinandsen followed her lineage and attended the Rhode Island School of Design studying sculpture. This background in sculpture has influenced how important form is in her work...subtle curves and movements are signatures of her pieces. An interesting side fact, Annette was David and Ron's, the designers behind Ten Thousand Things, first employee over 20 years ago.
