Walk Ins Welcome
One of my favorite things about our new store is the location with lots and lots of car traffic...I mean as the song goes "nobody walks in LA". We wanted our window display to reflect art as well as fashion and be eye catching enough to stop and notice...that by coming into Voiage, you were entering a unique experience. We teamed with artist, art director, event planner extraordinaire and former floral designer to the stars Krislyn Komarov to help us create this unique vision. We both are obsessed with all things GOLD. I mean, who doesn't love shiny objects! So we decided as window display/art project to use gold in each of the windows for the next year. Pantone might have declared it rose quartz and serenity but we have declared 2016 the year of GOLD!
The first window Untitled #1 was made up of hand pleated lightweight Mylar film hung by filament wire as a sort of abstract angel though some see it as a cape or skirt.
Check out our twitter account @voiagejewelry to see a short video on this project shot by internationally renown photographer Patricia Von Ah. The second evolution of this project was inspired by French artist Yves Klein. We both had seen an inspirational show at the Guggenheim entitled Zero and she decided to use his signature Ultramarine or Klein Blue....thinking of the sun, moon and sky.
Inspiration Images from Yves Klein who also used Gold in much of his work. Read more about the Man Who Invented a Color here.

Stay tuned....for future developments....
