Catherine Levy, who created Dorette, was born in Paris where she has lived and worked ever since. Catherine has always traveled extensively to India especially dazzled by the beauty of the jewelry. In her line, Dorette, Catherine uses multi-colored gemstones -- each creation is different. As was done in the Georgian jewelry era, the gemstones are backed in silver and the rest in 18k gold. Catherine believes that her line Dorette should be considered daily jewels -- small, colorful, fun and simple jewels that are easy to live with. The prototypes and some jewels are made in Paris and the rest of the jewelry are handcrafted in India. Catherine Levy passed away in 2022. Her line has been continued by her sisters and team.
