New York based Kimberlin Brown is influenced by the sea and her love of the Earth’s beauty. After receiving a BFA in Fine Arts with an emphasis on sculpture from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Kimberlin discovered jewelry making during a trip to Tuscany and then traveled to Copenhagen where she participated in a workshop in Georg Jensen’s studio. Mainly self-taught, Kimberlin often begins with an organic shaped gemstone or pearl and, using ancient “lost wax cast” technique, she creates organic smaller scale sculptures. A reverence for natural beauty is a cornerstone of her jewelry designs.
